Engineers, technicians, directors, photographers, editors and artists have been trying to negotiate a fair contract with McGraw-Hill's KGTV Channel 10 since January 2006.
Channel 10 and NABET-CWA have been together since KGTV first went on-air in 1953. Together they built a successful television station and have a rich history of working together to make a difference in the community.
Now for the first time in 57 years, McGraw-Hill-owned KGTV refuses to negotiate a fair contract.
Since January 2006, Channel 10 has:
Intentionally created an impasse in negotiations
Retaliated against employees for supporting their union
Continues to delay negotiating a fair contract
KGTV was forced to settle charges with the National Labor Relations Board after it:
Threatened and intimidated employees
Interfered with lawful union activities
Spied on union activities and
Installed cameras to observe employees without negotiating with the union
Now the Union has obtained McGraw-Hill documents that outline a chilling campaign by managers designed to influence employees to decertify their Union. The documents include management-created profiles of each employee, listing them by race, age, gender and a “fear” (such as loss of family medical benefits) that could be used to intimidate the employee. The California Labor Federation has sanctioned a statewide boycott of KGTV and its owner McGraw-Hill because of their "involvement in a union-busting campaign and unfair contract negotiations with NABET-CWA."

Contact KGTV management by phone or email and tell them to stop the union-busting and negotiate a fair contract with employees.
